Mr. Carpenter has a B.A. in Theater from Beloit College and an M.S. in TV and Radio from Syracuse University. After graduating from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications, Mr. Carpenter spent two years in the US Army Signal Corps. There, he was introduced to the pioneering efforts of the Army using video for training.

In the 1970's, Mr. Carpenter moved to Washington, DC where he worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce producing audiovisual programs as well as their Mutual Radio Network program: "What's the Issue?"

From 1972-75, Mr. Carpenter was Executive Producer for Audio-Video Concepts, Inc. where, among other projects, he wrote and produced a series of programs designed to teach minority businesspeople how to sell to Fortune 500 firms. These programs were used all across the country by companies such as Xerox, Wells Fargo and Exxon.

In 1993, Mr. Carpenter co-founded a second business: Millennium Productions, a video post-production company including broadcast quality non-linear editing. Millennium Productions eventually produced two Civil War historical tapes: "Ghosts of Cedar Creek" and "Voices of Antietam." Mr. Carpenter acted as Executive Producer for the Cedar Creek project. Both tapes ran on public television.

Mr. Carpenter now lives in North Carolina where he splits his time between scriptwriting for training and marketing projects and voice over work. For more information on these projects, see this credit list.
